In early days of the internet not much visual creativity was required to lure in visitors as it was information driven industry. The web has come a long way since its birth and now it’s at a point where technological excellence and creative brilliance have merged collectively to craft a launching pad for further breakthroughs in the field and challenge the creative aspect of designers. Currently, Web 2.0 allows the designers to use various tools that significantly accelerate the whole user experience. Creative Web Design can never accomplish what is required of it, if they cannot ensure its smooth functionality for the purpose it was built for on the first place which enables the visitor to use it without giving it a second thought.

Drupal.org: This is the official homepage of the Drupal project.  At Drupal.org, you can find a wide variety of themes that you can download for free.  This official website gives you the ability to browse the free Drupal themes by name or release date.  Additionally, if you sign-up for a free Drupal.org user account, you can use the Drupal Core compatibility filter to further refine your search results.  One important thing to keep in mind is that if you come across a theme that was released for a 5.x version of Drupal, these themes will not function correctly with any 6.x installation of Drupal.

Theme Garden: Theme Garden is a Drupal blog that is dedicated to showcasing free Drupal themes.  The interesting thing about Theme Garden is that they showcase each theme by actually applying it to their blog.  So, if you click one of the theme links in the sidebar, the theme you selected will be applied to the Theme Garden website.  While many websites use screenshots or demos to showcase themes, Theme Garden allows you to see the theme used on a real website.  If you decide that you like a theme once you see it applied to the Theme Garden, you will be able to find the download link on the left side of the website.

Mimbo: Although the base of the design itself is quite simple, this free magazine theme can be used to create an extremely attractive website.  In addition to the featured content box at the top of the theme, this theme allows you to showcase plenty of other pieces of content on the homepage.

Church WordPress Theme: Another member of the latest generation of the Revolution family of themes, Church is a three column theme with a great looking color scheme.  Church does a great job of balancing the amount of content and advertisements on each page.

The Morning After: Thanks to its expert use of white space, The Morning After theme is able to fit a lot of content onto its homepage without feeling cluttered or crowded.  If you need a theme that displays a lot of content but still has clean feeling to it, you should take a look at The Morning After right now.
