Good post however i must take slight issue with

"Most Webmasters ended up believing they need a lot of content to get more and more hits through the search engines, well, that is in a somewhat manner true, but inconclusive and non-professional."

you are dead right about quality, however
content is only as good as the backlinks it can generate through syndication - onsite content should be landing pages and order processing only!
Video is the best off site content as it is spread much fiurther than articles and PR text etc.

Truth is, it is a content war out there and the winner is the one who can produce the most on theme niche quality content - get it published in the best web 2.0 places and spread everywhere by RSS embedded backlinks

"SEO-relevant? Absolutely not, that is just the visual part (front-end) which you get the visitors to feel comfortable with, while browsing and reading through your site."
WHAT?

I might have misunderstood the message(?), but typography DOES matter greatly. H-tags f.x (which I consider typography) are of great importance.

I'm still confused about the "no follow" thing. I'm probably the last to understand this but I'm gonna ask the silly question anyway.

pagerank is really open to abuse and doesn't reflect the true value of the page to your visitor.

Getting links to your site and increasing your page rank is the hardest thing in the world. Even if your site is valuable, people will visit it but only webmasters can really link to it.

Thanks for the hints. The pagerank system is obviously open to abuse.

Good article - I certainly agree with you on the need for having SEO friendly URLs and good quality content. But on the subject of backlinks it is also important to mention that the links must be relevant to your site or it may have a negative impact on your site's ranking!

So when exchanging links it is important to remember and make sure that the content of the site you are exchanging links with is similar or relevant to yours.
